"WE DO NOT SEPARATE IT AS A HOUSE OR AN OFFICE, THE MAIN VARIABLE IS USERS AND PLACES"
To the second of interview series that moderated by Cemal Cobanoglu, Gönül Ardal and Yelin Evcen from Gönye Tasarım became the guests of Hatice Engür and Günce Tuna Sancar from Tuna Ofis. In the interview, many subjects were talked such as intertwined functions, changing life and working habits, the impact of social media on people and institutions, and what will change in our lives with our 4.0. industry.
In 2010, they founded the GÖNYE Tasarım, which consists of the first syllables of their names.
On the question of Cobanoglu about the how they found the Gönye Tasarım, Gönül Ardal said that they had come together with Yelin Evcen for the job that making 7 sample apartment belonging to construction company, and after they had completed this project, this work set a reference to them for their other works. She added that their first projects were sample apartments and this brought similar projects in continuation, and they also made special projects and applications on the other side.
On the question of Cemal Cobanoglu about what kind of project they do in today, Yelin Evcen indicated that their works included sales office of branded house projects and settlement solutions of all apartment types with sample houses, application projects, lobbies and flat corridors and social plants. Apart from that, they also said they made office projects.
On the question of differences and similarities between designing office and house, Gönül Ardal said that they did not separate it as house and office, the main variable is users and places.
"Functions Are Intertwined"
Yelin Evcen mentioned that offices had been designed at home comfort and these similarity is also applied for hotels.
On the “functions are intertwined” interpretation of Evcen, Cobanoglu asked works of Tuna Ofis on this subject. Tuna Ofis Sales Director Hatice Engür said that office furniture and home furniture were increasingly similar to each other and that they were producing "home office" furniture as an institution.
